Tasmanian International Scholarship

Academic merit scholarship for eligible commencing international students.

The Tasmanian International Scholarship is assessed on academic merit and provides eligible commencing international students with a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of their course.

All international students who submit an International Student Application to study in an undergraduate degree (with the exception of the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Dementia Care and AMC Seafaring courses) will be automatically assessed for the TIS Scholarship by our Admissions Team.

This scholarship is also available to international students applying for postgraduate coursework degrees (with a few course exceptions).

Applicants are automatically assessed for the Tasmanian International Scholarship at the time of submitting their International Student Application. Selection for this scholarship will be based on academic merit achieved in studies at secondary, diploma and degree level courses. Applications are assessed for all semester intakes and selection for this scholarship will be based on an applicant's highest level qualification prior to commencing their intended study program (minimum one-year duration).

Offer letters will notify applicants if they have been successful in being awarded a scholarship, provided final results have been submitted. Successful TIS recipients will find inside their Offer details of the Scholarship terms and conditions, which they must read carefully. Please note that this scholarship is only available to commencing students. International Scholarships will not reassess current students based on their academic progress at the University of Tasmania.
